HULL
The hull is an all hand laminated fibreglass construction. The bulkheads are made of teak faced marine plywood, which are securely bonded to the hull and deck. There is an external lead ballast of 3,05 tons. The ballast is secured to the hull with acidproof steel bolts. The yacht has a draft of 1,85 m. The engine bed is made of fibreglass and equipped with steel inserts. The hull has also a strong fibreglass bottom framework all over the boat.
DECK AND SUPERSTRUCTURE
The deck and superstructure are all hand laminated fibreglass constructions. The deck has an antislip surface, including the wheelhouse roof. All windows are manufactured of toughened safetyglass suspended in alloy frames. The guard rail on the Nauticat 37 is made of solid teak, which is mounted on stainless steel stanchions, that are equipped with lifelines. Boarding gates aft and starboard. Six solid fairleads and four heavy duty bollards (2 fairleads and 2 bollards in the bow, and 2 fairleads and 2 bollards in stern and two midship). Pulpit and pushpit are made of stainless steel. The deck is fastened to the hull with an alloy toe rail, and the joint is made with acidproof steel bolts. The anchor box is situated in the bow. There is also a storage space under the transom step.
ENGINE
Propulsion is provided by an Yanmar 4JH3-E (BSO stage II approved) marine diesel, 41,2 kW/56 hp/ 3800 rpm. It has a mechanical transmission, with a reduction of 2.6:1. The engine is fresh water cooled. The shaft is made of acid-proof steel, ø 30 mm, swinging a 17" × 14" bronze propeller. Parts below waterline are protected by corrosion anode. Fuel tanks are located on both sides of the engine room, and they carry approx. 400 l diesel fuel. The fills are located on deck and there is a separate handpump for taking out the dirt. The cruising range is approx. 500 nautical miles. There is also additional space for a generator in the properly soundinsulated engine room.
PLUMBING
All through hull fittings below waterline are equipped with seacocks. The fresh water system includes two tanks with a total capacity of 500 l. Both tanks are independently deck filled with a crossover valve in the galley. The water tanks are situated under the pilothouse sole. Both tanks have filters. A pressure system supplies toilet, galley and shower facilities. There are basin and handshower in the toilet. The toilet is supplied with marine pump type head and a septictank 100 l (22 gal. UK) with a suction fitting on deck and a manual pump. The Nauticat 37 is equipped with one automatic, electric bilge pump with manual override and one manual bilge pump in the cockpit.
STEERING
Two independent steering systems are employed in parallel. At cockpit helm station there is a Capillano steering and at the inside helm position a hydraulic system is used. Turnover rate of the inner wheel is adjustable within 3–6 turns from one extreme to another. Rudder of fibreglass, rudder stock of acidproof steel, support bearings of bronze. Emergency steering by way of a tiller connected directly to the rudder stock.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Boat's service by way of a 12 V D.C. system employing 3 heavy duty batteries of 1 × 135 Ah and 2 × 180 Ah, housed in a ventilated box in the engine room. A master switch for start and service batteries. The charging system employs a 12 V/80 A alternator with a relay for parallel connection during engine running. Individual function controlled by a switch panel, including automatic fuses for all consumers with lights positioned throughout the vessel. This includes an flexible arm chart light and reading lights at berths. All wardrobes have lights. Running lights according to international standards.
SPARS AND RIGGING
The Nauticat 37 is rigged as a sloop. Seldén manufactures the silver anodised aluminium boom and mast. The mast has internal halyards and it is sound-proof. The boom is equipped with a gas filled Rod-kick boomvang. Double spreader configuration. The mast is deck stepped and has a stainless steel support to the keel. The boom has slab reefing with internal reef lines, two reefs. Steaming light, anchor light and deck flood light on the mast.

INTERIOR
Interior construction of satin varnished solid teak and teak faced marine plywood, except the galley and toilets, which are finished in light laminates with teak trim. Cabin sole is made of teak faced marine plywood with light wood striping and varnished finish. There is wall-to-wall carpeting in pilothouse. A large selection of fabrics for curtains and upholstery available as standard. Wheelhouse curtains are optional. Toilet floors are made of mosaic tiles. The toilets have floor drains.
FORECABIN
The forecabin has two berths in V-configuration. There is a large full-length illuminated hanging locker with shelves in the rear. Drawers and storage under berths. Large aluminium framed skylight hatch overhead. There are reading lights over berths, and overhead lights.
FORWARD TOILET
Located by the fwd cabin. It has pressure water, a basin, and a marine pump type head and shower. Inside the door on the ceiling, there is a curtain rail of aluminium. Ceiling light and a 12 V outlet. Storage behind and underneath of basin. Finished in light laminate. On the ceiling there is an overhead hatch and a Dorade-vent.
GUEST CABIN (OPTIONAL)
This cabin is located on port side of the yacht. It has a comfortable wide berth. There is an openable skylight hatch for light and ventilation. Full height wardrobe. Storage space behind the berth.
AFT TOILET (OPTIONAL)
The aft toilet is spacious. It has pressure water, a basin, and a handshower. The toilet is supplied with marine pump type head, septic tank and a pumpout fitting on deck. Inside the door on the ceiling, there is a curtain rail of aluminium. Ceiling light and a 12 V outlet. There is also one mirror and one openable window. The toilet is finished in light laminate.
GALLEY
Straight galley providing Durant faced counter space. The galley has a large double sink made of stainless steel. Two burner gimballed gas stove with an oven and flame guards. Gas installation; solid copper pipe, which is connected with flexible hose to gas bottle and stove. Shut off valve in the cabinet under the sink. Pressure water system is provided. There is also a toploading refrigerator 100 l, which is driven by a 12 V compressor. Extensive cabinetry; drawers and lockers, cutting board, drawer for cutlery, a cabinet for foodstuffs with metal pin drawers, and one trash pail. The galley has also two opening hatches and a Dorade-vent to provide light and ventilation to this area.
