The Beginnings
Our story begins in the late 1950's when we moulded our first small fiberglass boats.
In 1966 we were asked by some local sailors to build a comfortable 10 meter motorsailer with a proper pilothouse. The general hull form was nothing exceptionally new; it closely resambled sturdy Nordic designs often seen battling their way across a stormy Baltic sea or bedecked with flowers and good cheer during celebrations under the midnight sun.

The Why
As the popularity of the Nauticat 33 soared and Siltala Yachts Grew, a demnd for larger boats was the natural result. The yard grew to an industrial enterprise. The growth has always been controlled; the fine traditional craftmanship skill has stood behind the quality of Nauticat yachts.
In the same way, the design department has always been loyal to the original idea. During the years the same typical features, closed warm pilothouse, safe and good performance hull and cosy wooden interior, have been repeated in all new models.
Our boats retain the essence of their Finnish heritage; straight forward, honest and uncompromising.

The Nauticat range
Today our range consists of 9 different models:
- The traditional Nauticats are the 331, 38 and 44, and designing these models great attention has been paid to the basics-comfort, spaciousness, and reliability both under power and sail.
- The Nauticat 321, 37, 39, 42 and 515 we call pilothouse sailing yachts, and they were all designed with performance under sail in mind. In these models we have created high performance yachts under sail but the traditional Nauticats values already described have not been put aside. The third group of Nauticats we prefer to call ocean going range.
- These are the Nauticats 43 and 521 and they are suited for longe-range criusing as well as family cruising, charter, business and other needs.

No matter the size, Nauticats have common qualities.
They all, for instance offer the vision required to command every Nauticat from inside or outside. Inside the yachts you can enjoy comfort along with the panoramic view offered by the cabin.
The pilothouse will shelter you from the burning rays of sun as well as from the freezing wind. In the Nauticat range you can easily find the yacht that suits your taste, sailing need and budget. We continue to build our boats by hand, our way for you.
We at Siltala Yachts in Finland know that sailing can be demanding in rough weather conditions and that's why we have not made any compromises over the years.
There are no shortcuts to quality and we uphold our reputation for building elegant yachts to highest standards based on our own experience.
